Three Horseshoes Morris is a Towersey based women's Cotswold Morris side which grew out of the 2011 Towersey Festival. Over the winter 2011/12 the side became established under its current name and adopted white, red and black kit, similar to that of Towersey Morris, which is the local mens side which was formed in 1966.
The side has grown but the kit changed in 2014 to black and red following one very wet bank holiday during Towersey Festival which caused red waistcoats to turn white shirts pink!
The repertoire of the side is comprises of a variety of Cotswold traditions including Adderbury, Fieldtown, Headington, Upton on Severn and Bampton together with other dances based on these traditions
We practice during the winter months in the barn at the Three Horseshoes pub in Towersey on Wednesdays at 8.00pm.
In the summer months we dance out at various local pubs, often as guests of our friends Towersey Morris.
We also appear regularly at the Towersey fete, Towersey May festival, the Towersey Festival workshop and on August bank Holiday Monday at the Three Horseshoes pub.
We have dancers of all ages the youngest being 13. We welcome anyone with an interest in Morris dancing and no previous experience is necessary – anyone is welcome to come along if only to see what we look like.
